Laurel Hall Wedding Videographer

A cinematic film to tell the story. A documentary film to preserve the day.

Why I Love Filming Weddings at Laurel Hall

Laurel Hall is one of my favorite wedding venues in Indianapolis because it encourages couples to slow down and experience their wedding day. Whether you’re exchanging vows on the lawn overlooking the estate or inside the intimate chapel, the day naturally flows without feeling rushed.

Laurel Hall is undeniably beautiful, but that’s not what keeps bringing me back. It’s a venue where people seem to slow down a little. Conversations last longer, families spend more time together, and the day never feels rushed. Those are the moments I enjoy filming most.

A Wedding Film from Laurel Hall

Here’s a wedding film I created at Laurel Hall that captures the atmosphere, emotion, and story of the day.

Why Laurel Hall Works So Well for Wedding Films

Beautiful Light Throughout the Day

Among Indianapolis wedding venues, Laurel Hall stands out for its natural light. Large windows fill the getting ready suites and historic rooms with soft, even light that feels beautiful throughout the day.

Indoor & Outdoor Ceremony Options

One thing I like about Laurel Hall is that both ceremony locations feel intentional. The lawn has one of the best backdrops in Indianapolis, while the chapel offers a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. Neither feels like a backup plan.

A Seamless Wedding Day

One of my favorite things about Laurel Hall is that your entire wedding day can unfold in one location. From getting ready and the ceremony to cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, everything flows naturally without traveling between venues. That means less time in the car, a more relaxed timeline, and more time celebrating with the people you came to spend the day with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. I’ve had the opportunity to film weddings at Laurel Hall and have become familiar with the property’s unique spaces, from the getting ready suites and chapel to the lawn and reception areas. Every wedding is different, but knowing the venue allows me to focus on the people and moments instead of figuring out the logistics.

Absolutely. Whether you’re planning an outdoor ceremony on the lawn overlooking the estate or an intimate ceremony inside Laurel Hall’s chapel, I approach each wedding with the same goal: preserving the experience naturally while capturing beautiful audio and multiple angles of your ceremony.

Clear audio is one of the most important parts of any wedding film. I use professional wireless microphones and audio recorders to capture your vows, officiant, readings, and ceremony as clearly as possible. Every ceremony is also included in full as part of your documentary wedding film.

Absolutely. My goal is always to work alongside your photographer, not compete with them. Over the years I’ve learned how to capture meaningful moments while allowing everyone to do their best work, creating a relaxed experience for you throughout the day.

Yes. Every wedding includes two films. Your cinematic film tells the story of your wedding day, while your documentary film preserves the ceremony, speeches, and the moments in between so you can revisit your entire day for years to come. When weather, FAA regulations, and the day’s schedule allow, I enjoy incorporating aerial footage to help establish the venue and surrounding grounds. However, my focus is always on the people and the story, so drone footage is used only when it adds something meaningful to your film.
