Ritz Charles Wedding Videographer

A cinematic film to tell the story. A documentary film to preserve the day.

Why I Love Filming Weddings at Ritz Charles

Ritz Charles has become one of the most recognizable wedding venues in central Indiana for good reason. Whether you’re celebrating in the Garden Pavilion, the Chapel, or one of the elegant reception spaces, the venue is designed to let couples focus on what matters most—being present with the people they love.

As a wedding filmmaker, that’s what stands out to me. Beautiful venues certainly help create stunning images, but the moments that matter most happen between them. Ritz Charles creates an atmosphere where those moments naturally unfold, making it one of my favorite places to film weddings in the Indianapolis area.

A Wedding Film from Ritz Charles

Every wedding has its own story. Here’s a wedding film captured at Ritz Charles that showcases the emotion, celebration, and atmosphere of the day.

Why Ritz Charles Works So Well for Wedding Films

Elegant Ceremony Spaces

Whether you’re exchanging vows inside the chapel or outdoors beneath the trees, Ritz Charles offers ceremony spaces that feel timeless on film. Each location has its own character while providing beautiful natural backdrops for one of the most meaningful moments of the day.

Beautiful Spaces for Filming

One of the things I appreciate most about Ritz Charles is how naturally the day flows from one space to the next. Whether you’re exchanging vows, sharing a quiet moment together, or celebrating with family and friends, the venue provides beautiful settings that help tell the story of your wedding day.

A Seamless Wedding Day Designed for Celebration

The reception spaces at Ritz Charles are designed for gathering people together. From heartfelt toasts to packed dance floors, the venue creates an atmosphere where genuine moments happen naturally—the moments couples often treasure most years later.

A Relaxed Wedding Day

One of the biggest advantages of Ritz Charles is how smoothly the day flows. With ceremony, portraits, cocktail hour, and reception all happening in one place, couples spend less time traveling and more time celebrating with family and friends.

Tips for Couples Getting Married at Ritz Charles

After filming weddings at Ritz Charles, I’ve picked up a few things that help couples get the most out of their day. Every wedding is different, but these simple tips can help create a more relaxed experience and leave you with even better memories.

Build Extra Time Into Your Timeline

Ritz Charles offers beautiful spaces throughout the property. Giving yourself a little extra time for portraits allows you to enjoy the grounds without feeling rushed.

Trust Your Timeline

A well-planned timeline gives everyone the opportunity to do their best work without making the day feel rushed. I work closely with your planner and photographer so I can capture everything naturally while allowing you to stay present with your family and friends.

Enjoy Cocktail Hour

Because everything happens on-site, many couples are able to spend more time with guests than they expect. Those conversations often become some of the memories people remember most.

Stay Present

The best wedding films aren’t created because everything goes perfectly. They’re created because couples are fully present with the people they love. Trust your team, enjoy the celebration, and let the day unfold naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions About Filming Weddings at Ritz Charles

Yes. I’ve had the opportunity to film weddings at Ritz Charles and have become familiar with the venue’s layout and event spaces. Every wedding is different, but knowing the venue allows me to focus on the people and moments instead of spending time figuring out logistics.

I use multiple audio recorders throughout the ceremony to ensure clear, reliable sound. By placing discreet microphones on key participants and recording backup audio, I’m able to preserve your vows and the emotion of the ceremony as naturally as possible.

Absolutely. Your photographer and I are there for the same reason: to help you enjoy your wedding day while preserving it beautifully. I make it a priority to communicate throughout the day so we can work together seamlessly, giving you space to be present instead of feeling pulled in different directions.

Yes. Every wedding collection includes both a cinematic film and a documentary film. The cinematic film captures the emotion and story of your wedding day, while the documentary film preserves the moments exactly as they happened—from your full ceremony and speeches to the candid interactions you’ll want to revisit for years to come. Together, they give you both a beautiful story and a complete record of your wedding day.

The sooner, the better. Many couples book their videographer 12–18 months before their wedding, especially for popular spring and fall dates. Once you have your venue and date secured, it’s a great time to reach out and see if I’m available.

When permitted, yes. I enjoy using drone footage to help establish the setting and showcase the venue from a unique perspective. Because drone flights are subject to FAA regulations, weather conditions, and venue policies, I always confirm that it’s safe and allowed before flying. If drones aren’t permitted, I’ll capture the venue using other cinematic techniques to ensure your film still feels complete.

My goal is to document your wedding day as naturally as possible. I don’t believe in constantly interrupting moments or asking you to repeat them for the camera. Instead, I quietly observe and anticipate what will happen next, allowing you to stay present with your family and friends while I preserve the day as it unfolds.

Most of my couples tell me that before their wedding. The good news is that you don’t need to perform for the camera. I give gentle guidance when it’s helpful, but most of the day is filmed naturally. My goal is to capture the way your wedding actually felt, not create moments that didn’t happen.
